Edwin's House Church Completed

Last wednesday Edwin's House Church had their final lesson. So for one final time he thought he would show them some servanthood leadership and wash their feet. It was a lot of fun and a really good practical lesson as well.

Now we look forward to seeing each of these graduated members move on to running a ministry of their own. Cristela has already started one on Friday nights in the SW of Calgary, Larry is looking for a new location and Glen and Laura will begin a "More Good Fruit" Bible Study starting on April 23. Remember to congratulate them because they are getting married on April 5. We expect to see great things from Evy and Suzanne as well in the coming months.

How Do I Get People To Come To My House Church?

Our House Churches are designed to help people become overcomers. So if we keep our eyes open for people who have something to overcome, it makes speaking to them about House Church real easy.

There are so many reasons that people would need to have Jesus as a part of thier life. They may have a relationship problem, or have a need to experience forgiveness, or a need for more peace. They may have anger issues or depression issues. Jesus can set them free from all of those bondages. The very first lesson in the new House Church is "Assurance Of Salvation." Even people who have been to church will sometimes not really be assured of their salvation. This first meeting is a great way to get people saved, as well as a way to encourage a believer to be all that God has called them to be.

We have had tremendous impact on people with financial problems. Our five minute financial teaching part of the meeting has helped people realize how to get out of debt, how to think in a more possitive way, and how to even gain the courage to put their resume out into the market place. We have had a few success stories where people have actually doubled their income during the year and a half that their House Church runs. So when you hear someone complaining that they can't make ends meet. Tell them about House Church.

If you believe in this it will be so much easier. So read the newsletters. Come to the meetings. Let God have His way in you, and it will be easy to talk about with others.

Tim and Faye Plett host a House Church in Turner Valley. They are so excited about what God is doing in their life that they got 50 invitations and went door to door. They made up packages of information and they even carry them with them when they go for a walk downtown. Just about every week somebody new is coming out to their group.

Another thing that Faye is using are the CDs that we have prepared for the first 14 weeks of lessons. When the group was on lesson four she started handing out lessons 1-3 to people who looked interested. Once they had listened to them it was easy to convince them to come to the next meeting!

We can use posters, handouts and CDs. We can go for coffee with a person that we just met. We can pick them up in our car and make sure that they make it to the meeting. This is easy, and it is fun! Just pray and ask God how you can get started today!

February Team Meeting Success

We had a wonderful time as we gathered together with all of our Alberta groups on February 23rd. Glen Dickson allowed us to meet in his home and had his basement set up real nice to host us. Richard and Laureen "Porchlite" came down from Champion to provide free music lessons in the afternoon and then they led a very anointed service for us in the evening.

We were also blessed by some 'Popcorn Preaching.' Each of the leaders took a turn sharing and they were all notable messages. We were not surprised to hear some of them, as we have known them to be powerful speakers already. But there were a couple that were never heard by our groups before and the feedback was really great.

I think I have probably heard the most comments about Jeannene Green. She gave a really moving message about how reading Bill Hybels book "Just Walk Across The Room" had impacted her. I heard several people discussing how they were going to go buy a copy of it right away, and others commented on things that they learned by listening to Jeannene. Good work, girl! We are honored to have you on the team!

Larry DeWolfe spoke about the importance of attending the Team Meetings. I was so impressed I think I will be at the next one. How about you?

Jake Nuefeld spoke on faithfulness. An apt topic for a man of faithfulness. But we already knew that about him, and we also knew it would be a good message. He was faithful to not let us down.

Edwin Wiggers wowed us with a message on letting God complete the work that He has began in us. He has a powerful testimony of overcoming huge obstacles and how God has saved Him from a past of drugs and even prison. What a blessing to see that this Christianity thing really works!

Cristela Sinclaire spoke passionately about her passion. We have always admired Cristela's strength to invite people. She is a real bringer, and that comes out of her passion. When she knows that she has a good thing, she cannot be stopped. And she knows that Christ is the best thing ever, and she is always telling others about Him.

Well I can't wait to hear what comes from these leaders in the next few years. I believe that we will hear great messages on CD as well as in person. Don't you?

January Team Meeting Success!

What a wonderful time in the Lord we had with Pastor Glen Stead! He shared such an encouraging word for our leaders on Friday evening from Isaiah 52. Arise! Shake the dust off! And sit down in your authority!

Then on Saturday night he shared, “God can’t do anything in your life that is bigger than who you are. The miracle through you, will never be bigger than the miracle in you.” Supporting Scriptures Deuteronomy 1:2, Numbers 13:25, and Matthew 25:25.

God is planning to do a work in us at New Life Valley Ministries. He is preparing us for the battles to take Canada for Jesus. It is an exciting time!

We also had a lot to celebrate. Porchlite joined us to provide the worship music. Certificates were given to our team members who completed the third set of Essentials “Relationships 101.” Awards were also handed out to our four Leadership Training graduates. Two special awards were handed out as well. Jake Neufeld got an award for service beyond the call of duty, and Glen Dickson got one for being the most faithful House Church Host of 2007.

Thanks to everyone for coming out and making this an amazing event. Our next Team Meeting will be held at Glen’s house on February 23, 2008.

New House Church Starting Sun. Jan. 20

Hello Everyone,

Don't forget that Sunday evenings at 7:00 we have a new House Church starting North West Calgary in the Arbour Lake area. The address is 121 Arbour Crest Heights. The House Church Leader is Jeannene, and the hosts are Peter and Anne.

Please let your friends from the area know all about it. Pick them up and give them a ride for the first time or two. We love to see new people and we are happy to answer questions. Everyone is welcome! Good food, good friends, good times!
